Majority Leader Bill Frist called up the nomination of Justice Priscilla Owen to the Senate floor this morning, starting the debate over whether the Democrats can continue to fillibuster judicial nominees. Hypocrites. Watch them squabble about how they made a simple "mistake" in two or four years and blaming the Democrats for not bringing the filibuster back in. Of course, the Democrats only need three votes to bring down this ridiculous violation of the Constituion. They already have McCain, Chafee, and probably Snowe on board. Owen and Brown obviously have biases and probably aren't impartial in their rulings. I think that they're blaming us for filibustering "people of faith" because they know there's a problem with some of their nominees. Democrats never mentioned anything about people of faith, it was the Republicans. And yes, there is such a thing as being too conservative. What if David Duke was brought up for nomination? The GOP would just say the President can choose whoever he wants and that Democrats are just filibustering him because he's "too conservative." This guy was the former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan! But just a hypothetical case.
